Parma complete the Serie A weekend’s action with a home game against Lecce, a fixture expected to be a routine home win.Lecce sit just above the relegation places in the Italian league, with a single victory in their last 14 outings. But the win came in December away at Fiorentina, signalling the erratic nature of the league and Lecce’s ability to spring a surprise.Parma are in eighth place in the league, including a surprise 2-1 away win over Napoli lately but have also been inconsistent.Their last match was on 6 January at Atalanta, which they lost 5-0. Parma have since strengthened their squad by taking the Slovenia international Jasmin Kurtic on loan from SPAL with an option to buy the player at the end of the season.Cagliari midfielder Alessandro Deiola has joined Lecce on loan for the remainder of the season.Deiola has struggled for game time in recent months, playing just once in Serie A this season, and will now look to gain more minutes at Lecce and help them in their fight for survival. He previously had spells at Parma and Spezia. This pool also includes a game from the French second division where Lorient can go back to the top of the standings if they beat Caen. This is the likely outcome.
